Sarmad Tariq, a quadriplegic (paralyzed shoulder down), who aims to help individuals realize their true potential & positive significance of limitations at organizational & personal level. Sarmad works on motivating people facing physical challenges. In 2004, he drove a distance of 1,847 km non-stop for 33 hours from Khyber to Karachi & created a world record by becoming the first ever quadriplegic to cover this distance in such short time. He is also the first ever Pakistani wheel chair-bound athlete to complete a full marathon distance of 42.192 km in Standard Chartered Lahore Marathon on January 30, 2005. And was the only wheelchair athlete to represent Pakistan & complete the New York City Marathon in November 2005.
